The New iPhone to Be Incompatible with Current Car Connectors

Apple’s next iPhone model, expected to become available for purchase in the early fourth quarter of the year, if not a few weeks before that, might pose a problem for car makers.

Specifically, the handset has been rumored to be headed for the market with a new, 19-pin dock connector at the bottom, clearly incompatible with the currently existing 30-pin Apple connector.

Car makers, on the other hand, have been packing the 30-pin connector with their products for many years, so as to provide buyers with the possibility to dock their devices while on the go.

However, if the new iPhone model indeed arrives with the smaller 19-pin connector, it would not fit a wide range of cars, including those coming from Kia, Hyundai, Nissan and more, CNet reports.

Of course, users will still be able to connect the phone to the vehicle via Bluetooth, but that might not do the job as a cable does it, one should agree.
