Linus Torvalds announced earlier today, November 11, that the fifth Release Candidate of the upcoming Linux 3.7 kernel is now available for download and testing.
Linux kernel 3.7 Release Candidate 5 brings updates to the following architectures: ARM, ARM64, SPARC and s390; updated filesystems, including XFS, CIFS and GFS2; lots of updated drivers for DRM, PCI, HID, sound, mmc, pinctrl, net, and hwmon; and various other small updates for XEN, akpm, virtio, crypto, etc.
"This is quite a small -rc, I'm happy to say. -rc4 was already fairly calm, and -rc5 has fewer commits still."
"And more importantly, apart from one revert, and a pinctl driver update, it's not just a fairly small number of commits, they really are mostly one-liners. The diffstat looks quite nice and flat." said Linus Torvalds in the official announcement.
Download Linux kernel 3. 7 RC5 right now from Softpedia. Remember that this is a development release and it is intended for testing purposes only.
