Huawei's Ascend Mate Emerges in Video Demo, Live Photos

Chinese mobile phone maker Huawei has been lately rumored to plan the launch of a large Android-based smartphone that would easily take down Samsung's Galaxy Note II phablet, namely the Ascend Mate.

The handset hasn't been officially confirmed as of now, but photos that show it to the world are now available for your viewing pleasure along with a video demo, courtesy of Huawei's Richard Yu, via weibo.

The smartphone is expected to arrive on shelves with a 6.1-inch Full HD Display, while also packing a 1.8GHz quad-core processor, along with 2GB of RAM.

Furthermore, the handset was said to be planned for release with a 4000mAh battery inside, and with Google's Android 4.1 Jelly Bean platform loaded on top. It should cost around 3,000 yuan (about $480).

Huawei Ascend Mate is expected to be officially announced at CES 201 3 in January, and might become available for purchase by mid-February.
