Proposal Photo Posted on Reddit Goes Viral

Redditor Thekidd142 posted a heartwarming picture of the tree he adorned with LED candles, before proposing to his girlfriend.

His post received almost 25,000 upvotes since yesterday, proving Reddit is the perfect place to show off your romantic streak.

“Last week I proposed to my girlfriend of 3 years, and this is how I did it. I had to wait for her to stop crying before I could even ask her to marry me,” he wrote.

He claims it took 4 to 5 hours to attach the LED lights to jars and hang them on his sweetheart's favorite tree.

He had to leave to pick her up and bring her home, and all the way back he was scared he might have burnt down her house in the process of trying to impress her.

KnitNotPurl and himself had been talking a marriage for a while, Daily Dot writes, but she was still surprised to see the tree on her family's property decorated.

Dishonored Is Now Officially a Bethesda Franchise, Sells Better Than Expected

Pete Hines, who leads the Public Relations department at publisher Bethesda, says that the success of the recently launched Dishonored means that his company is aiming to turn it into a full-fledged franchise, although it is not clear how it plans to achieve this goal.

The executive tells Destructoid that, “I can tell you that Dishonored is far exceeding our sales expectations, which is especially cool considering it’s new IP facing a host of well-established franchises this quarter.”

“ We did terrific numbers again this past weekend, both in stores and on Steam, where Dishonored was listed as the number one selling title over the holiday weekend. And Dishonored has really sold well overseas. So, we’re very pleased and appreciate all the fans that have supported Dishonored and Arkane. We clearly have a new franchise,” he adds.

Hines has not announced an actual sequel or spin-off, which would cement the franchise status of Dishonored.

Harvey Smith, one of the co-directors of the game and co-founder of developer Arkane, has previously said that he sees Dishonored as a complete package and has mixed feelings about a direct sequel.

His partner, Raf Colantonio, says that the entire team is happy to see their game perform well, both critically and commercially, and that they are interested in working with Bethesda on a potential sequel.

Dishonored allows players to inhabit the charac ter Corvo, a master assassin who also has access to supernatural abilities, as he explored the steampunk city of Dunwall and tries to find out why he was framed for the murder of the Empress he was protecting.

The game is based on stealth mechanics, but gamers also have a lot of options during combat and there’s no penalty for achieving goals by simply taking out all enemies, although moving around without being detected is much more satisfying.

You'll Get to Vote on Whether You Get to Vote on Facebook Soon

Facebook wants to make some changes to its data retention and terms of use policies. The changes have been published for a while now and Facebook is waiting for feedback.

Currently, the site's policy is that if a post announcing these type of changes gets 7,000 comments, the changes are put to a vote.

If 30 percent of Facebook users vote, then the results are binding, otherwise, Facebook can do as it pleases. This system hasn't worked out very well in practice and is, in fact, one of the things Facebook wants to change.

But, as you can imagine, getting 7,000 comments on this issue wasn't hard, the site has one billion active users. So now the changes have to be put to a vote.

It's all very meta, users get to vote on whether they are allowed to vote. While critics of the move are optimistic about the turnout, the fact is 300 million people are not going to vote on this, presidential elections don't get anywhere near those numbers.

So the whole endeavour is rather pointless, still Facebook has to go through with it. A vote will be put up soon and users will have a week to make their choice. In all likelihood, the results, i.e. the low number of people who vote, will legitimize the changes, but we'll have to wait and see.
