Robert Bennett sent me an email today, December 1, regarding a new Linux distribution of his, called Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix.
“I hope you find the Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix easy to use and beneficial.” said Robert Bennett. “The idea to maintain the support resources of the ubuntu community, the Ubuntu So ftware Center, and Ubuntu One, while adding the user friendliness of the Cinnamon Desktop”.
Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix comes with a classic, two-panel desktop, and includes out-of-the-box support for all your multimedia needs, a Mozilla Firefox web browser packed with handful add-ons and plugins, as well as a weather applet.
The Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix operating system including all the Ubuntu extras package that most users might need, such as Adobe Flash support, Java (OpenJDK) support, audio and video codecs, fonts, libdvdcss, and much more.
It also comes with the powerful GIMP image editor software, the wonderful VLC Media Player application, Nemo as the default file manager, the Scrach educational program, and the Squick app, a full-featured implementation of the Smalltalk programming language and environment.
Useless to say, Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix is not supported, endorsed, or af filiated in any way with Canonical or other entity.
“Again, thank you very much for downloading and I truly hope that you find the Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix useful.”
“Special thanks to the Ubuntu Project, Canonical Ltd., Mark Shuttleworth, Clement Lefebvre, Cinnamon, and the Debian Project for sharing.” says Robert Bennett, developer of Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix.
Ubuntu Cinnamon Remix is distributed as Live DVD ISO images, supporting both 32-bit and 64-bit architectures. Bugs can be reported on its official wiki page.
