Microsoft’s Surface is already sold out in the United States, but Microsoft wants even more buyers for the first tablet in its history.
There’s a catch though: the offer is only limited to the first 100 people in line when doors open and the giveaway comes in the form of an Xbox Music Pass worth $99.90.
The announcement was made via Microsoft’ s corporate website just ahead of the Surface launch, so with some luck, you can still snatch the giveaway.
The offer however isn’t too surprising, despite the incredible success registered by the Surface since Microsoft revealed pricing information.
The company repeatedly said that all those who want a Surface on October 26 should line up at the store to buy one personally. What’s more, it even offered reservation passes to those who wanted to reserve their Surfaces and buy it a few hours after its official launch.
In the meantime however, the product got sold out in most countries around the world, including the United States and the United Kingdom. Deliveries of the tablets sold online have been pushed back up to three weeks, Microsoft says on the local Surface pages.
Pricing for the Surface begins at $499 (€380) for the 32 GB version without a Black Touch Cover, but jus t as Panos Panay, the general manager of the Surface team, said, you do want this cover. It’s not only very durable, but it also plays the role of a physical keyboard, letting you type of up to 86 words per minute.
