The Latest Trend in Silicon Valley Perks, Housecleaning and Free Dinner

The perks employees in Silicon Valley enjoy are legendary. Then again, the work they do is as well. But, while Google, Facebook and co. outdo each other with employee perks, they also push people to spend long hours and keep impossible deadlines.

Free food doesn't help much if you get home at 10 pm. So more and more companies are now moving from perks at the workplace to perks at home, like free housecleaning or at home dinner delivery, The New York Times found.

The idea is to help out employees with all the chores and responsibilities they have at home, so they can enjoy the little free time they do have.

It seems there is a shift in focus from separating work from personal life, to better integrating the two. The idea is to ensure people enjoy their free time and have less stress at home so they can focus more on their work.
